Fantastic theme, I just added it to WP Theme Lounge (http://wptheme-lounge.com/2010/01/19/accumulo/).
I have been looking for something like this for a while, one question though: is it possible to filter single articles of a feed somehow, i.e. by keywords?
Hi Jenny – thanks for featuring the theme!
The Accumulo RSS widget just grabs an RSS feed but there’s no reason you couldn’t use something like Yahoo! Pipes to filter the content you want from the feed then use the Pipes feed instead.
Huh, interesting. I gotta look into those Pipes then
Thanks!
Nice looking theme! Great job guys.
thanks – glad you like it
Please consider introducing this “Back To Top” Button in Mimbo Pro. Thanks
Accumulo is another smooth theme you did. Feels good to browse it. Congratulations!
Thanks
Glad you like the back to top button too – not sure it would fit with the Mimbo Pro style though?
Maybe one could use another pic for it, but in single post and pages it would come in handy.
I have decided to write a plugin for this
Look out for it over the weekend
Great News!
Thank you!
Just published the plugin on my personal site – BM Top Link – enjoy!
Just love it! Thanks again!
My inital mistake: Chosen another name for the plugin-directory
Next wish on my personal pro theme design wishlist: A magazine child theme for Elemental. Any chance to see something like that any time soon?
I don’t know about soon, but I want to make a magazine child theme for Elemental as well, so it will probably happen at some stage
Ill wait using Mimbo Pro till then
Just another thought: Could the basic functionality of Accumulo which is aggregating Twitter, RSS-Feeds and Websearch be put into some kind of plugin or extension to use it as a page within Mimbo Pro Frontend? I would love somehting like this and pay for it.
Hi recently I purchased these theme and nice looking and used for my site which in Tamil but the there is a big gaps between the post you can see it …. i dont like it. any way to make it look neat as in alltop .. please…………
Will the Accumulo template work on WordPress 3.0 beta?
Hi Tim, my initial tests show it working fine but I haven’t had a chance to test everything yet.
Thanks
I am planning on putting up abut 200 rss feeds on one site. At any point 60-70 rss feeds will be visible to the user. What’s the server load going to be like on the server hosting my website? Any suggestions on how i can make sure the server doesn’t melt?
That sounds like quite a lot and I would recommend against it to be honest, however Accumulo does as much caching as it can to try to reduce the load.
If your 70 feeds are split across 10 tabs then you should be fine, but assuming they are all on the first tab then you may have problems.
There is code in Accumulo that caches the output of each feed item so that they only update at the interval you set. Accumulo also trys to minimize the amount of feed updates on each page load so even with 60 feeds it will open update 2 or 3 each load. Finally there is code that updates the cache once a day so that things will never be more than 24 hours out of date. If you combine Accumulo with a caching plugin such as wp-super-cache then you may be ok, but I don’t want to make any promises as 70 feeds at a time is still a massive amount.
Like to buy but have some fews questions.,do you have sites already using this theme. does it support videos?
And is it possible to create a drop down menu like alltop? Please I need to know these things before I buy. I have bought the other one “onenews theme” but i am also thinking buying yours but i need these clarification.Reply or just pm my email. Cheers
